BAC FINALS: Marc Volza wins the 2014 BAC Series Finals at Highland Bowl
Cheshire, Connecticut - Marc Volza won the 2014 BAC Series Finals at Highland Bowl. He was #1 in the Series Standings after all 8 series stops this season. He bowled well in his divisional play and was seeded the #1 seed, utimately winning his match. Complete results are posted below.
Kyle Shaw wins the Dan Lopardo Memorial, BAC Series Stop #8 at Highland Bowl
Cheshire, Connecticut - The BAC would like to congratulate Kyle Shaw for winning the The Dan Lopardo Memorial at Highland Bowl this past weekend. Kyle bowled a scratch score of 796, which was also the top scratch score of the weekend. He finished with a combined total of 871. The tournament paid out eight spots which ended up being nine bowlers as there was a tie for eighth place.
In second was world record holder Pete Signore with 835, third was Marc Volza with 830, fourth was Rick Ganoe with 816, fifth was Steve Korik, Jr. with 809, sixth was Mike Tomasello with 798, seventh was Sean Loteczka with 797 and tying for eighth was Paul Tobin and Kevin Martin with 792. The series stop finished with a total of 50 entries.
The BAC would like to thank Todd Turcotte and his staff at Highland Bowl for hosting the final Series Stop of the season. Gary Fournier wins BAC Series Stop #7, Hip Correnti Memorial at Holiday Lanes
Manchester, Connecticut - The BAC would like to congratulate Gary Fournier on his first tournament win of the season this past weekend at Holiday Lanes for the Hip Correnti Memorial. Gary finished with a combined total of 861, 689 scratch and 172 pins handicap. Finishing in second place was Mike Tomasello with a total score of 852 (740 + 112). Third place was Bryan Miller with a combined total of 839 (746 + 93).
The remaining top nine were Brandon Ganoe with 836, Erik Pellett with 832, Kevin Martin with 827, points leader Marc Volza with 824, Rob Persons with 823 and Gaby Pena with 807. Top scratch pool scores belonged to Erik Pellett with 780, Kevin Martin with 741 and Mike Labrie with 705. The tournament finished with a total of 52 entries.
The BAC would like to thank Holiday Lanes and its staff for hosting Series Stop #7. Also, a big thank you goes out to the tournament director, Mary Ann Cochefski. February Challenge Matches this weekend in MD features 38 teams - 190 bowlers!
Maryland -The 2014 Adult Challenge Matches were held this weekend and included 38 five man teams, equalling 190+ duckpin bowlers. Teams competed in 12 games head to head against each other Friday and Saturday, then head to head matches were held Sunday with one-game elimination. The event was a great success, exciting and fun for all of those who competed. The winners were a team from RI composed of Ron Pelletier, Will Rigney, Alicyn Costa, Scott St. Jean and A.C. Carreiro. Connecticut bowlers in the event included Kyle Shaw, Tim Smith and Becky Airhart.
The annual CT Adult Challenge Matches will be held at T-Bowl in July. Hopefully events like this will continue to be a great success and continue to grow thoughout the years to come for duckpin bowling. A special thank you for all those who bowled and supported the event.
Waterbury, Connecticut - The BAC would like to congratulate Dave Dupuis on his win this past weekend at Perillos for the Theresa Belniak Memorial. This is Dave's third tournament win and second Series Stop win of the season Dave finished with a combined total of 827 (737+90). For second place, there was a tie between Pat Ruffo, III (708+116) and Kris Semeraro (734+90). Fourth place went to BAC President Jack Dansereau with 809 (697+112). In fifth place was the current points leader, Marc Volza with 793 (636+157). The final money spot had a 3-way tie between Mike Labrie, Chris Petro and Rick Dansereau with 790. Top scratch pool scores belonged to Kris Semeraro with 734, Ron Pelletier with 729 and Rick Dansereau with 723. The tournament finished with a total of 44 entries.
Dave Dupuis wins the Ann Schmitter Memorial for 2nd win in a row this past weekend
Mansfield, Connecticut - The BAC would like to congratulate Dave Dupuis on winning this past weekends tournament at Lucky Strike Lanes. Dave finished with 859. 2nd Place went to Erik Loteczka who finished with 842, and 3rd was Ron Pelletier who finished with 836.
Paul Tobin wins Series Stop #4, Mariellen Vogt Tournament at Johnson's Lanes
Hamden, Connecticut - The BAC would like to congratulate Paul Tobin on his win this past weekend at Johnson's Lanes for the Mariellen Vogt Tournament. Paul finished with a combined total of 885.
The tournament had a total of 44 entries and there were 12 spots for the money cut. In second place was Ericka DeStefano with 859 and third place went to Steve DeStefano with 846. Fourth place went to John T. Zikis with 844, who edged out Dave O'Connor with 843. The remaining money spots belonged to Kyle Shaw (839), Becky Airhart (838), Dave Dupuis (823), Steve Mills (823), Pete Signore (815), Chris Petro (804), and Marc Volza (803). Top scratch pool scores belonged to John T. Zikis with 803, Kyle Shaw with 764 and Rick Dansereau with 702.
Erik Pellett captures his second Series Stop win of the year at the Nick Tronsky Memorial
Manchester, Connecticut - The BAC would like to congratulate Erik Pellett on his win this past weekend at Holiday Lanes for the Nick Tronsky Memorial. Erik finished with a total of 851, including his handicap.
There was a tie for second place between Mike Labrie and Marc Volza with combined totals of 833. In fourth place was Colin Dunnack with 816. The final 3 money spots belonged to Phil Spreada with 811, Chris Petro with 808 and Kevin Martin with 806. The tournament had a total of 48 entries.

CT Youth Duckpin State Tournament held at Lucky Strike Lanes this past weekend
Mansfield, CT- On April 5 and April 6, 2014, Lucky Strike Lanes hosted the annual CT Youth Duckpin State Tournament. The BAC is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s event:

Kristen Cochefski & Colton Gue recipients of 2014 Bill Yingling Memorial Scholarships
Connecticut- The BAC would like to congratulate the 2014 Bill Yingling Memorial $250 Scholarship Winners Kristen Cochefski, CT Youth Travel League who had a 426 Series (147-140-139) and Colton Gue of Walkersville Bowling Center, MD for a 509 Series (154-195-160). Winners were selected by the highest scratch series bowled in February for Boys and Girls. Congratulations to both Kristen and Colton.
The Eastern Classic - Greg Schriefer wins with 1861 after exciting finish at Lucky Strike
Mansfield, Connecticut- The 84th Eastern Classic - Frank Barber Memorial wrapped up this weekend and was exciting all the way up to the last game. Greg Schriefer became champion with a total score of 1861 for his 12 game set. He rolled 908 on Saturday and 953 on Sunday.
There were many contenders in the mix hoping to score high enough in their last few games on Sunday to win the Eastern, including Steve Dryer, John Deantonnis, Brian Ewing, Mike Weaver and John Beiderman. In the end, Colin Dunnack who shot 1842 after the first weekend finished 2nd, with John Deantonnis finishing 3rd.

Along with the excitement on the lanes, with the help of Brian Ewing and countless others, a live web stream on You Tube was set up and broadcast the entire tournament. Viewers were able to log in at home and watch the event and drama unfold on Sunday and throughout the tournament. A speacial thank you to Brian and everyone that helped set up the equipment, helped out in the booth, and made the live web stream the success it was. Hopefully this is the start of many more events broadcast on the internet.
A special thank you also to Dara Dominique, acting as tournament director for the event and all of her hard work and time on both weekends of the event. Also, Lucky Strike Lanes and their staff for hosting the event and making this one of the biggest and best events during the duckpin season.
Dave Dupuis wins BAC Tournament - Dan Perillo Memorial at Perillo's Bowl-O-Drome
Waterbury, Connecticut - The BAC would like to congratulate Dave Dupuis on winning the annual Dan Perillo Memorial Tournament at Perillo's. Dave had 944 scratch in his 6 games. With 108 HC Pins, he finished with 1052. Second place was Marc Volza who finished with 1008, and Third place was Brandon Cordani who finished with 1003.
Dan Davis wins the Laurel Lanes Open, BAC Series Stop #2 at Laurel Lanes
Winsted, CT- The BAC would like to congratulate Dan Davis on his win this past weekend at Laurel Lanes for Laurel Lanes Open. Dan had a combined score of 831 with games of 152-158-105-115-117 and 184 pins of handicap.
Second place went to Marc Volza with scores of 159-122-137-121-110 and 158 pins for a combined total of 807. Third place belonged to Gaby Pena with scores of 97-163-138-169-99 and 139 pins for a combined total of 805.
In fourth place was Steve Korik, Jr. with a total of 796, fifth place went to Reggie Davis with 790, sixth place belonged to Bob Morin with 782 and rounding out the money cut in seventh place was Darren McCarthy with 774. The tournament had a total of 47 entries.
Erik Pellett wins Series Stop #1, The Dick Bisson Memorial at T-Bowl Lanes
Newington, Connecticut- The BAC would like to congratulate Erik Pellett on his win this weekend at T-Bowl Lanes for the Dick Bisson Memorial. Erik had a total score of 847 with games of 118-153-155-211-132 and 78 pins of handicap.
Second place went to Steve Korik Jr. with scores of 143-154-158-159-150 and 78 pins for a combined total of 842. Third place belonged to Becky Airhart with scores of 184-173-136-111-140 and 90 pins for a combined total of 834. Rounding out the top four is Luke Robustelli with scores of 200-134-164-138-141 and 56 pins for a combined total of 833. The tournament finished with 45 entries.
